New York City, USA: Recess, 2013
48.9 cm x 61.6 cm. [unframed]
Edition of 20 [+ 5 A.P.]

A five-color screen print depicting two photographs, one taken by the artist’s mother, and the other by Horvitz, some years apart from each other, but from the same location in California.

The work was made as a fundraiser for Recess, the NYC-based organization whose mission is to assist artists creating works in the public realm, on their fourth anniversary. The prints are available from the organization for $1000 unframed or $1200 framed, and can be purchased by emailing info@recessactivities.org.

View a similar work, available as an accordion-fold booklet, here.

"The photographs, taken some five years apart, one by myself, and one by my mother, are layered over each other, in five shades of blue. A collapse of time from the same place."
- David Horvitz
